When it comes to children, The Arc keeps three fundamental thoughts in mind: potential, safety and fun! Surveys tell us that education and childcare are the greatest issues that caregivers face when it comes to quality of life and children, and safety is paramount when it comes to building trust. Children tell us they want fun, fun and more fun, of course! Consider it done!

Supporting Effective Education Systems
When it comes to navigating the Special Education system to ensure a quality education for their child, informed caregivers can make all the difference. The Arc partners with caregivers and professionals to equip them for success. Caregivers and educators have multiple opportunities to learn more about their children's rights, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and local issues through seminars, resources, and through our interactive community forum, found on this site. For difficult issues, Arc staff is well-versed in facilitating success through advocacy, information, and problem-solving. Whether your child is starting a new school, or you want help preparing for an upcoming ARD meeting., you can post your question or topic on The Arc's community forum and gain perspective from other families who have been in your shoes. Providing Adventure Care for ages 5-21
Securing appropriate childcare can be challenging. The Arc focuses on providing summer care and respite care in a safe, fun and experiential environment through the program called Adventure Care. Trained and experienced staff provide care in a safe and convenient setting while putting an emphasis on fun for the kids. The Arc works with community partners such as Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, Dallas Parks and Recreation, Plano Park and Recreation, Plano ISD Sage Group, Allen Parks and Recreation, Northaven United Methodist Church and McKinney ISD to provide childcare at periods throughout the year. As our resources expand and new community partners are found we look forward to bringing Adventure Care to new communities throughout the metroplex.
Respite Care
