One Great Day puts the fun in helping others!
The idea is simple: Your group plans a fun one-day event to raise money to help those in our community with intellectual disabilities (like mental retardation, autism and Downs syndrome). You'll be able to get ideas, t-shirts and other "One Great Day" prizes. After your event, The Arc of Dallas will make a special "thank you" presentation to your group at the time of your choosing.
How will my One Great Day help?
Every dime and every dollar that you raise will help those who need you most: local children, youth and adults with disabilities. The Arc of Dallas has been working with this special population since 1951, making life better for them by helping them achieve greater independence and become active participants in the community. Our programs depend on people like you to help raise the funds needed to assist this "forgotten minority" in our community.
Visit the One Great Day Web site for more information: www.onegreatday.info
Other ways to volunteer include...
Dance If you like music and dancing, you'll love this volunteer opportunity! Seasonal dances are held throughout the Metroplex. Get your school, organization or company involved in decorating, dancing and developing new friendships.
Advocates The Arc serves as court-appointed legal Guardian of the Person for incapacitated adults, 18-49 years of age. A Volunteer Advocate acts as the Agency Representative on behalf of The Arc serving as additional "eyes and ears" for The Guardianship Program. Email
