ADVENTURE CAMP IS NOW HIRING!
Adventure Camp is a summer recreational day camp for children with special needs, ages 5-21. Our day camp is full of activities that include crafts, games, field trips, swimming and more!

Adventure Camp Staff
We are looking for motivated and energetic staff to help run our summer day camps during June and July in McKinney, Allen, Dallas and Rockwall. Job responsibilities will include implementation of daily activities and interaction with campers, volunteers and parents. High school diploma required. Experience in working with children with special needs is preferred.

Adventure Camp Site Supervisors
We are in need of 2 on-site supervisors for our Dallas and McKinney camp sites during the months of June and July. Supervisors will be in charge of managing staff and volunteers, safety of campers, implementation of daily activities, and interactions with parents. College degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology or related field preferred. 5 + years of experience with children with disabilities as well as experience in supervising and overseeing also required.

Adventure Camp Program Coordinator (Intern)
The program coordinator will assist the Camp Director in the planning and implementing of all activities of our summer Adventure Camp Program. The intern will get hands-on experience with our campers, gain leadership skills through supervising volunteers, and also get an opportunity to experience the non-profit sector. The majority of the summer will be spent on-site at the camp locations, but there will be opportunities to attend agency trainings, events, staff meetings and board meetings. You must be enrolled as undergraduate student. And those studying Special Education, Sociology, Psychology and related field are preferred. This is a paid internship opportunity brought to you by the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program.

Multimedia Intern (Unpaid)
Want to expand your portfolio? In this internship you will gain valuable experience shooting, editing and compiling photographs and video footage. You'll get to see your work published on the web, in new print materials and presented at special events! Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere preferred but not required.

Communications/PR Intern (Unpaid)
Looking for real-world experience? This internship is not a gofer position. You will have much to add to your portfolio after this internship. You will work with communication plans, media, funding, websites, event planning, desk-top publishing, writing, editing and more. Real world experience and the added perk of making a difference! Hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily, with flexibility to meet other schedules.

Legislative Advocacy Intern (Unpaid)
Help change the lives of Texans with intellectual disabilities and their families. Tens of thousands of Texans are on waiting lists for 8+ years for services that are readily available in most other states. Help with legislative research, communications and more. Do you have great communications skills, both written and oral and enjoy research? Political science, sociology majors/background preferred.

Guardianship Intern (Unpaid)
Interested in hands-on experience working with people with intellectual disabilities? Looking for training working in the court system? Then this internship might be a great fit for you.

  • Aggressively seek options that are less restrictive.
  • Work with referrals from the Dallas County Probate Courts, and other sources.
  • Interface with Arc staff, volunteer advocates, court investigators, and aggressively seek options that are less restrictive.
  • Learn about the guardianship process through the court system
  • Client assessments, client visits, monitoring volunteer advocate activities
